WELCOME TO THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF BOOKS AND SOUND IN DIFFERENT LANGUAGES!
This is a sound book memorializing childhood in Haiti. It serves as both a learning tool for the diaspora and as a journey back to childhood for those who grew up in Haiti. It’s beautiful and I am very proud of it. A percentage of the profit is earmarked for a Haitian led non-governmental organization that provides monetary support and strategic planning to Haitian peasant communities.
Batteries
The book uses three AG13 type batteries. These batteries play up to 2.6 hours of sound. They must be replaced when the music stops completely or in the middle of songs. We do NOT recommend Maxell batteries. These batteries can be easily found on Amazon.
How to activate the music
Step 1 – Pull out the small tab on the back cover to activate sound.
Step 2 – Press the small round sensor, embedded on each page, to play sound.
Step 3 – Enjoy ?.

The Lambi Fund of Haiti
Lambi is the Haitian Creole word for conch. It is the chosen symbol for strength, hope, and self-determination as a nation. When blown, the conch sound was used as a signal for people to come together during the Haitian Revolution.
As a not for profit organization, the Lambi Fund of Haiti serves as a financial resource to grassroots community-based organizations. The Lambi Fund operates using the empowered model that Haitians must be agents of their own development. This is incredibly unique, apart from the other 20,000+ nongovernmental organizations currently registered in Haiti. There are over 20,000 of them! And the Lambi Fund intentionally takes direction from their rural partners on the programs needed in their communities. Projects supported are literally initiatives that are devised by Haitians themselves as to what is best for them. Because of their “bottom up” model and the belief that Haitians are enough in knowing what they need for themselves, I have committed a percentage of the profits from the children’s book to go directly to the Lambi Fund of Haiti. This is an investment in Haitian self-agency and a commitment to writing our own story.
